Lexicology is a branch of Linguistics that studies the vocabulary of a language. It deals with words, word-forming morphemes, and word-groups or phrases. There are different types of Lexicology including General Lexicology, Special Lexicology, Descriptive Lexicology, Historical Lexicology, Contrastive and Comparative Lexicology, Morphology, and Semasiology.
