Abu Ali ibn-Sina (Avicenna) was born in the year 980 in the settlement of Afshana near Bukhara into the family of a financial officer. As early as his childhood, ibn-Sina was familiarized with Indian calculation methods and evolved into a fully developed scholar by the age of 10. He achieved great prestige as a physician, known for his cures. In reward for his services, he was granted permission to overthrow and capture prominent figures. He was patronized by influential individuals and expounded on healing and oriental philosophy. His work consolidated the gain of knowledge in the field and has been impacted by his teachings.
