K. D. Ushinsky was born on February 19, 1983. His father was a retired officer, a participant in the war with the French in 1812. His family belonged to the small landed gentry. Konstantin's mother died very early, in 1835. Ushinsky is considered one of the founders of scientific pedagogy in Russia.
