This work is devoted to the topic " The use of authentic materials in teaching reading as a form of speech activity at the school level". It covers the definition of authentic materials, their sources and choices, important factors in choosing them, characteristics of reading as a type of speech activity, ideas for materials in the classroom, and the advantages of using authentic materials for students.
