Rabies is a viral disease that causes inflammation of the brain in humans and other mammals. The symptoms include fever, tingling at the site of exposure, nausea, vomiting, violent movements, uncontrolled excitement, fear of water, inability to move body parts, confusion, and loss of consciousness. The time between infection and onset of symptoms is usually one to three months.
